Market Director at Bolloré Logistics
Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
I currently work for a company called Bolloré Logistics, where I manage a team of Global Account Managers as well as the Vertical Director in various countries.
My playground is the world: I operate all over the globe.
The aim of my job is to analyse, structure and produce a strategic analysis of the market we're targeting and the commercial development we can achieve.
What has been your career path?
I started by spending three years in the United States, in New York, as a salesman with a company called ABX Logistics.
Then I moved back to Paris, where I've been working for 20 years now. I've always worked in the transport and logistics sectors, especially in sales and team management.
How has the School helped you in your career?
There have been many contributions. First of all, it gave us an open-minded approach to the business world, in marketing, sales, finance, accounting, management control and so on.
The School provides us with a background that may be a little theoretical but is nonetheless as close as possible to life in a company.
I then spent a year in England as part of my studies. I was only 19. I was quite overwhelmed and amazed by what I discovered in England. I realised that at the time I didn't know anything, I didn't know anything and that I had everything to learn. It was a real shock because it shook up my certainties and that did me a lot of good.
The other thing is that there are so many courses, which can sometimes seem difficult but which are essential. I'm sure you'll realise that later on.
Do you have any advice for our students?
Take an interest in what you're doing, because once you start working, you'll see that your pace will change and you'll have different responsibilities.
After your studies, everything changes because life moves at a hundred miles an hour. I imagine that your parents tell you this all the time. But we realise it now. Time passes so quickly that you have to make the most of these moments in student life.
